Community Initiatives
The Mike Todd Memorial Scholarship was created in loving memory of Mike Todd Jr., a Sanford business owner and passionate supporter of single mothers. Each year, this scholarship is awarded to a single mother who is currently enrolled in college or a vocational program. The goal is simple but powerful: to remove barriers, ease financial burdens, and help a determined mother complete her education and build a stronger future for herself and her family.
Each year, She Was Me Inc. provides backpacks and school supplies to children in our community, ensuring they start the school year confident, prepared, and ready to succeed. This initiative supports single mothers and families by removing financial barriers and reminding every child that their dreams matter.
She Was Me, Inc. along with community partners sponsors an annual toy drive for families in need within the Sanford Community. Our annual Holiday Toy Drive brings joy and hope to children and families during the holiday season. Through community support and generous donations, we are able to adopt families, provide gifts, and create meaningful memories that remind them they are seen, valued, and loved.
